Vermont singer/songwriter Rachel Bissex was---and still continues to be---a shining light in the
world of folk music, nearly seven years after her death from breast cancer in February 2005.
Rachel's inspiration led to the creation of the White Light Fund (providing scholarships to
Vermont singer/songwriters), countless musical tributes from the folk community, and, of
course, a new front in the battle against cancer of all forms.
Rachel's daughter, Emma Sky, has organized Dancing With Rachel: A Benefit For Cancer
Victims---featuring many established Vermont singer/songwriters---not only to honor the spirit
of Rachel Bissex, but to raise awareness for the victims of a continuing worldwide crisis. On
February 25th, the artists involved will perform a mix of Rachel's music and their own original
works, with proceeds from the event supporting cancer patients, survivors, and their families
through the charity CancerCare. We hope you can join us in celebrating Rachel's life and
helping to save others'.
